Doug focuses his practice on environmental law and litigation, representing landowners, real estate developers, construction companies, industrial facilities and other businesses on issues related to hazardous waste, contaminated land and regulatory compliance. Doug leverages his scientific background in his legal practice and in the representation of his clients, bringing his knowledge to bear on remediation of contaminated lands and sediments. His land use practice also benefits from his technical background, enabling him to help businesses navigate the complex land use permitting process associated with permitting projects in or near sensitive aquatic environments.
Elaine has a broad range of trial experience in land use and natural resource issues. She has been a leader in defending the forest products industry from lawsuits threatening its economic vitality. She has represented a wide range of property owners in disputes over whether they can use their land. Her success comes from a combination of legal skills, industry knowledge and a strategic ability to claim the high ground in controversial matters early, and to maintain that high ground to achieve the client’s objectives.
Diane is a partner with over a decade of commercial litigation experience. She has particular expertise in insurance coverage and environmental and natural resources matters. In addition to significant experience in a variety of complex commercial matters, Diane handles numerous environmental litigation and claims involving hazardous site investigations, cleanups, cost recovery, natural resource damages, including sites in Washington and Idaho on behalf of petroleum companies, refineries, distributors, and landowners in MTCA and CERCLA actions. Diane’s clients come from a variety of industries and include ports and municipal agencies, petroleum and chemical companies, public transit authorities, and national and community banking institutions.
